This time I would like to take you to Terschelling, where the beautiful wedding of Mariëlla & Tunno took place. They live on the black rooster (zwarte haan), where they overlook the Wadden Sea and the island. They wanted to share the love they have for each other and this place with their family and friends. And I was there to capture this moment.

The theme of the wedding was “to the sea” which is also tattooed on the arm of Mariëlla. But before it’s time for the big day, I enjoyed this beautiful island for a while. And I immediately understand why they choose to marry on Terschelling. I rented a bike and explored the island, the sun was shining and in the evening I eat a pizza near my hotel while enjoying a beautiful sunset. Then it’s bed time because tomorrow it’s time for the wedding! 

Family and friends spend a midweek on the island in two large holiday homes. Everyone has brought their dogs, something that makes this trip even more relaxing. The hustle and bustle of all dogs also causes chaos when one of these furry friends decides to do his needs in the middle of the living room of the house. But that should not ruin the fun. Tunno is getting ready for the wedding together with his cousin and best friend. And Mariëlla is busy writing her vows. The first tears fall when her mother gives her a personal gift, along with some loving words for today and every day after. When the tears have dried up, it is also time for Mariëlla to get ready with her best friends. In the meantime, the rest of the group leaves with for a nice trip through Terschelling, and after the tour is over straight to the ceremony.

With the dress and makeup on, hair styled and ready to go, it is time for the first look. Mariëlla and Tunno see each other for the first time, it is an intimate and loving moment, just for the two of them. Filled with joy and happiness, and it is wonderful to see the bridal couple this way. We leave with a Jeep to the drowning house and of course I capture this magical place and the bridal couple along the way. On the way back we see a seal on the beach. We’re beyond exciting, does it get any better than this?! 

The rest of the group arrives at the beach entrance. The first glance at the bridal couple brings tears of happiness and love. Then it’s time for the ceremony on the beach. While Mariëlla and her father walk forward, the life song of Mariëlla is sung live. Something that makes this moment even more special. Of course, the dogs are also present, and they stay close to their owners. The ceremony is provided by a good friend of the family, making it extra personal and loving. There is such a magical atmosphere in the air that many of the guests can’t keep it dry. And even I have to tear away a little tear during the vows.After the ceremony it’s time for something delicious! The snacks, cakes and drinks appear, and we all have drinks on the beach. Everyone is having fun and when we have waved goodbye some of the guests that had to catch the last boat, it is time for dinner. Beautiful speeches, delicious food and a fantastic evening! There is an island girl who makes custom poems for all guests, which you get home in a bottle. The dogs are comfortable between the tables and the scenery is just perfect. There is laughter, a tear once in a while and when dinner is eaten it is time to move away the tables. There will be a band and there will be dancing and partying for hours. Again, a beautiful day with lots of love and beautiful moments. I am so grateful got to be part of this!

Deze keer neem ik jullie graag mee naar Terschelling, waar de prachtige bruiloft van Mariëlla & Tunno plaatsvond. Zij wonen op de zwarte haan, waar ze uitkijken op de Waddenzee en het eiland. De liefde die zij hebben voor elkaar en deze plek wilde ze graag delen met hun familie en vrienden. En ik was erbij om dit moment vast te leggen. 

Het thema van de bruiloft was ‘to the sea’ wat ook op de arm van Mariëlla getatoeëerd staat. Maar voor dat het tijd is voor de grote dag geniet ik zelf nog even van dit prachtige eiland. En ik snap meteen waarom zij ervoor kiezen om te trouwen op Terschelling. Ik huur een fiets en verken het eiland, de zon schijnt en ’s avonds eet ik een pizza in de buurt van mijn hotel terwijl ik geniet van een prachtige zonsondergang. Daarna is het tijd voor bed want morgen staat de bruiloft op de planning!

De familie en vrienden verblijven een midweekje op het eiland in twee grote vakantiehuizen. Iedereen heeft zijn honden meegenomen, iets wat dit uitstapje nog meer ontspannen maakt. De drukte van alle honden zorgt ook voor chaos als een van deze viervoeters besluit zijn behoefte te doen midden in de woonkamer van het vakantiehuis. Maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Tunno maakt zich klaar voor de bruiloft samen met zijn neef en beste vriend. En Mariëlla is druk bezig met het schrijven van haar gelofte. De eerste tranen vallen als haar moeder haar een persoonlijk cadeau geeft, samen met liefdevolle woorden voor de dag en de toekomst. Als de tranen zijn opgedroogd is het ook voor Mariëlla tijd om zich klaar te maken samen met haar beste vriendinnen. Ondertussen vertrekt de rest van het gezelschap met huifkarren voor een mooie tocht over Terschelling, opweg naar de ceremonie.

De jurk is inmiddels aan, make-up zit perfect en de haren zijn gestyled. Het is tijd voor de first look. Mariëlla en Tunno zien elkaar voor het eerst, het is een intiem en liefdevol moment, gewoon lekker met zijn tweetjes. De blijdschap spat ervan af en het is prachtig om het bruidspaar zo te zien. Wij vertrekken met een Jeep naar het drenkelingenhuisje en natuurlijk leg ik dit magische plekje en het bruidspaar vast. Op de terugweg zien we ook nog een zeehond op het strand. We gillen het uit van geluk, als dit niet fantastisch wordt!

Bij de strandopgang komt de rest van het gezelschap aan in de huifkarren. Bij de eerste blik naar het bruidspaar komen tranen van geluk en liefde. Dan is het tijd voor de ceremonie op het strand. Terwijl Mariëlla en haar vader naar voren lopen wordt het levenslied van Mariëlla live gezongen. Iets wat dit moment nog specialer maakt. Uiteraard zijn ook de honden aanwezig en die blijven dicht bij hun baasjes. De ceremonie wordt verzorgd door een goede vriendin van de familie, hierdoor wordt het extra persoonlijke en liefdevolle. Er hangt zo’n magische sfeer in de lucht dat velen het niet drooghouden. En zelfs ik moet even een traantje wegpinken tijdens de geloften.

Na de ceremonie is het tijd voor iets lekkers! De hapjes, taartjes en drankjes komen tevoorschijn en we borrelen met zijn allen op het strand. Iedereen vermaakt zich en als we een deel van de gasten hebben uitgezwaaid om de laatste boot te halen is het tijd voor het diner. Prachte speeches, heerlijk eten en een fantastische avond! Er is een eilandmeisje die gedichtjes op maat maakt voor alle gasten, welke je in een flesje mee naar huis krijgt. De honden liggen lekker tussen de tafels in en het plaatje is compleet. Er wordt gelachen, af en toe een traantje gelaten en als het diner is opgegeten is het tijd om de boel te verbouwen. Er komt een band en er wordt nog uren gedanst en gefeest. Wederom een prachtige dag met heel veel liefde en mooie momenten. Ik ben dankbaar dat ik hierbij mocht zijn!
